Description

The Pooter Filter can be a critical accessory for any entomologist or specimen collector looking to keep dirt, dust, and tiny particles out of your mouth and lungs while using an aspirator. Designed specifically for use with pooters, this filter safeguards both users and specimens by removing fine particles and debris from incoming air.

This is just the filter. Pooters need to be purchased separately.

This important safety device should be used by all those who collect specimens with inhaling-type aspirators. The filter disk provides protection from particulate matter, filtering molds, pollens, dust, and other potential health hazards. Filter connections accommodate latex tubing that comes with the Manual Pooter, clear, with metal tubes and Pocket Pooter. While the filter is not HEPA grade, it blocks a great deal of particulate matter.

Instructions for Use

Labeled with “in” and “out” on both end of the filter to indication direction when using. 

Connection steps

1. Determine where along the latex tube you would like to attach the filter.
2. Cut at the point in which you plan to attach the filter.
3. When attaching the filter, connect the “IN” side of the filter to the part of the latex closest to the metal straw and collection chamber.
4. Attach the “OUT” side of the filter to the end of the latex intended for the mouth.
5. Alternatively, you can attach the “IN” side of the filter directly to the end of the original latex, and directly aspirate with you mouth from the “OUT” side of the filter.
6. Discard the filter if there are signs of discolor.
