Insect response to semiochemicals wind tunnel test chamber

Description

The insect response to semiochemicals wind tunnel test chamber, is based on the standard Mad Hornet Wind Tunnel, with some slight changes. Firstly, there is no honeycomb, as stable air flow is not needed inside. The olfactory tests are piped in from outside of the chamber. There are 2 standard access panels. Two, or more tube ports can be created in the back panel, where the tests are piped in from. Each of these is regulated by an air flow meter.

Details on the basic tunnel are below.

The Mad Hornet Wind Tunnel is a simplified wind tunnel, with 9 fans drawing air through the system, with the other end being covered in a honeycomb plate to stabilise the air flow.

The standard size of the wind tunnel is 1m long, by 30x30cm.  The side panels can be clear, coloured or opaque. A single hatch is standard, but more can be added. The air speed is governed by changing the input voltage which increases or decreases the fan speed. Air speed of up to ±9.5m/s can be achieved.

Designs, shapes and sizes are variable, so please talk with us about requirements. The below link is to a short video showing the wind tunnel.
